Featured Friday: Glenn Gottfried

On September 2, ParadigmNEXT is hosting its first webinar of its BigMarker Webinar Series with special guest Glenn Glottfried. The topic of the webinar is “What Angel Investors Look for in Startups,” and for Glenn, it is one of his most frequently asked questions and also one that is crucial to an organization’s success. “There is a lot of friction associated with raising money from angels,” says Glenn. “If you have never done this before, it is imperative that you learn as much as reasonable to reduce the friction and increase your chance for success.”

As a highly accomplished executive and team builder, Glenn has played an important Featured Friday: Glenn Gottfriedrole in leading multiple companies and startups through transformative changes by identifying and executing innovative top line growth strategies, while simultaneously improving the organization’s performance. Yana Nirshberg, current Managing Partner and Creative Director of ParadigmNEXT,  was assisted by Glenn during the sale of her magazine, Status. His contributions to the entrepreneurial community have not only positioned him as a valuable resource to entrepreneurs and startups, but he has also developed working relationships with entrepreneurs, angel groups, individual angels, incubators, VCs, educational institution and service providers. Glenn’s last full time executive role resulted in the transformation of a privately held company and its sale to a publicly traded company.

Glenn is currently a board member and a strategic advisor to over a dozen firms. Through his strategic and tactful advice, he has worked with founders and business owners within a variety of operational functions, including sales, business development, marketing, product development and growth objectives. Giving back to the entrepreneurial community is his focus now. “Having been fortunate to work with some mentors that helped me push through multiple exits as an operator, I knew that after the last one, it was time to, so called, pay it forward,” says Glenn. “As I have gotten older, I have realized that time leverage is important. Running a company helps one firm. Sitting on the board or as a strategic advisor allows me to impact more firms at once.”

Glenn’s goal for his webinar on September 2 is for startups and entrepreneurs to walk away with the motivation, drive and knowledge to get to the next step, which often times is landing angel investors. A few of the takeaways according to Glenn will be: “The pitch must be a wow. Be very self-aware and reflective. The business model and the go-to-market strategy must match.” During the webinar, he will go into more detail about the importance of each of these messages and provide listeners with tips on exactly how to execute them.
