What is Maggie Daley Park?

Maggie Daley Park is at 337 E. Randolph St. in Chicago. Taking place of the former Daley Bicentennial Plaza, it is now a large lakefront recreation center. While construction is ongoing and new features are added every season, it is a common place where Chicagoans and tourists like to explore and experience Chicago.FEATUREFRIDAYdaleypark

Why is it on the ParadigmNEXT radar?

Managing Partner and Creative Director, Yana Nirshberg, was recently featured on PureWow, sharing her favorite spots around Chicago. Maggie Daley Park was listed as a place she likes to visit for family time. “Now that it’s spring, Nirshberg and her daughter can’t get enough of the dreamy playground at the just-opened Maggie Daley Park, which she calls the city’s ‘new masterpiece,’” writes Purewow. She says her daughter loves to climb the giant fort and walk across the hanging bridge and highlight recommends it to other Chicagoan families!

How is it impacting the industry?

Maggie Daley Park was built on public feedback. The design concepts and programming ambitions reflect that of the various means of public opinions, like meetings, focus groups and surveys. Through both the park axis and the play axis, all visitors can experience various types of landscape experiences. The innovation behind the modern and experiential park speaks to the architectural innovation and design landscape of Chicago, which inspires and motivates the creative industry even more.
