Former SXSW Accelerator Finalist Verie Competes in Techweek Launch Championship in Chicago

Verie, LLC, a former 2015 SXSW Accelerator Finalist will compete in the Techweek Launch championship during the week of June 22-28, along with 122 other Chicago startups. Verie is a mobile, virtual photo ID that allows users to share a verified ID with any person or business they choose. Verie’s goal is to revolutionize the online world by creating the means to combat fraud, violent crime, and false identities.Former SXSW Accelerator Finalist Verie Competes in Techweek Launch Championship in Chicago

The Launch competition is Techweek’s top attraction that gives a lot of exposure and press to the finalists and the National Champion. Furthermore, the winner of the competition receives $50,000 in exchange for 1%. Regional winners are also rewarded with $50,000 in cash and prizes. Aside from the exposure, participants receive mentorship in the form of feedback from judges, practice in their pitching, and possible connections with potential customers and investors.

In order for tech companies and startups, they have to 1) incorporate technology into their business, 2) be less than three years old, 3) have less than 15 million in revenue to date, and 4) have fewer than full-time 15 employees. Verie was a featured finalist at the 2015 SXSW Accelerator Conference that took place in Austin, TX in March. The startup was selected for the Social Technologies category. At a time when online security threats are at their highest, the Verie application is not only relevant but a possible game changer within the digital space. The company is helping people protect against fraud by verifying that who they’re talking to online is the person they say they are.
