Follow and engage with relevant bloggers and blogs. This entails expanding your online social circles and sharing your opinions in platforms that are relevant to your profession. When establishing a brand, you are establishing a voice, and hopefully a voice that has a distinct tone, style, and objective. This, however, does not mean spamming other bloggers. Share your thoughts in response to their content. Not only will the blogger find it valuable, but you will attract an audience that wants to hear more from you.

Get involved in conversations via various social media channels. Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+ are a few ways where you can converse with people you wouldn’t be able to converse with over the phone or via email. Social media gives you a casual forum to share a tweet or two with people who are interested in hearing what you have to say. Ask questions, share opinions and other content, and engage with people you can learn from.

Host a webinar or a Q & A online session. Not only is this great exposure, but you will be surprised at how many people truly value honest opinions from an industry expert, especially in an online space. These are a great way to share your professional opinion and expertise, but also to build your personal brand. Just make sure that if you host a webinar, you promote it in advance!
